4. Art of the title - analysis of title sequences

The walking dead

1. First we see the channel which the show airs on (AMC). We then see the actors names (Cast) in order of how significant the character is. We then see who the executive producers of the show are and who the show is developed by. We then see what the show is based which is a novel and we finally see the title of the show in the boldest font.

2. The type of fonts are a yellow/white color almost the color of rotten flesh which is significant as the show relates to rotting flesh. The title of the show is the boldest font of all the text that is shown.

3. The font is very big and covers the whole of the screen which is useful as it grabs the audience better like this.

4. Behind the font we wee significant or relevant images of items characters use in the novel such as Daryl's crossbow arrows. We also see locations which show locations that will be shown in the show at a particular time for that season such as Woodbury or the prison. There is a high pitched music which does create a sense of excitement for an audience and engages them.

5. I chose this sequence because I like the show but also because if I was someone watching it for the first time the title sequence uses good fonts, colors and images along with engaging music to interest me as a person viewing the show.

6. Each season the title changes to either portray new characters/ producers who have joined the cast or show and the images of the locations change as it is a new season.

The Cabin In The Woods

1. First we see the publication or publishing company which is Lionsgate. We then see the production team and who the film was written by. While this happens we see ancient like images of violence in the background. The title of the film is shown next in the largest font in red which represents blood. We lastly see the cast names of the movie.

2. The font is not bold but is red which connotes the color of blood which is significant as the movie is about killing and violence. Little red drops also appear to show blood splatters.

3. The cast names and other information is at the bottom right hand corner, visible but not blocking the images whereas the title of the film is large bold red which covers the background picture.

4. At the first we can see ancient images of murder and violence behind the font type but then the movie begins while the characters names come up which can be distracting. The music is a low attention grabbing music which does create a sense of foreboding.

5. I chose this sequence because the red text stands out and the images give you an idea of the type of movie it will be which appeals to me and I also enjoy this movie.
